House Rules

House Rules & Rental Policies

We want every guest to have a wonderful, comfortable stay at Rincón del Descanso. These policies help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. Please review them before your arrival.

Check-In / Check-Out

Check-in time is 3:00 PM; check-out time is 11:00 AM.

Early check-ins or late check-outs may be available upon request. Please ask well in advance if this can be accommodated.

Your house manager meets you on arrival. Full check-in details will be provided in advance.

No Smoking / Vaping / Substance Use

Smoking, vaping, and substance use is strictly prohibited anywhere on the property, including inside the home, on the patio, by the pool, and on the rooftop.

Evidence of smoking, vaping, or substance use may result in an additional rush deep-cleaning fee, loss of damage deposit, and/or termination of stay without a refund.

No Firearms or Weapons

This is private property — no firearms, weapons, or ammunition (open or concealed) are permitted.

A violation will result in termination of stay without a refund.

No Pets

No pets or animals of any kind are permitted in the home at any time.

Evidence of animals may result in an additional rush deep-cleaning fee, loss of damage deposit, and/or termination of stay without a refund.

Quiet Hours

Please respect our neighbors by observing quiet hours from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

Maximum Occupancy: 6

The home accommodates a maximum of 6 guests.

No additional overnight guests are allowed beyond the registered party.

Air Conditioning

The home is equipped with air conditioning. Please keep windows and doors closed when the AC is running to maintain efficiency and avoid system malfunction.

If you have any concerns with temperature, please contact the house manager.

Safety & Security

Ensure all doors and windows are locked when leaving the property. Do not share the entry code with anyone outside of your party.

A comprehensive list of emergency contacts and procedures is available in the home.

Use of furnishings, appliances, electronics, pool, and all amenities is at the guest's own risk.

Pool & Beach Usage

Children must be supervised by an adult at all times in the pool area and on the beach.

No glass containers are allowed in the pool area.

Please use the pool responsibly and follow all posted safety guidelines.

The ocean can have strong currents — please exercise caution when swimming. Check local conditions and flags before entering the water.

Damage & Cleaning

Guests are responsible for any damage to the property during their stay.

A cleaning fee is included in the booking and pre-stay cleaning will take place before your check-in.

Basic starter supplies are provided including paper towels, toilet paper, soap, and kitchen essentials. Additional supplies and replenishments are the guest's responsibility.

Excessive mess may result in an additional charge. A mid-stay cleaning can be requested through the house manager for an additional fee.

All trash must be properly disposed of daily.

Cancellation & Payment Policy

  1. 1RESERVATION DEPOSIT — A 50% reservation deposit is due upon confirmation. This secures your dates.
  2. 2FINAL PAYMENT — The remaining balance is due 30 days before your arrival. We will send a payment link in advance.
  3. 3LAST-MINUTE BOOKINGS — For reservations made within 30 days of arrival, the full amount is due at booking to confirm the reservation.
  4. 4CANCELLATION (STANDARD) — More than 60 days before arrival: refund of monies paid, minus a 30% handling fee. Within 60 days of arrival: no refund. Early departure: no refund of unused nights. We recommend travel insurance for any trip, particularly for international travel and bookings made far in advance.
  5. 5CANCELLATION (HOLIDAY RESERVATIONS, DEC 19 – JAN 2) — More than 90 days before arrival: refund of monies paid, minus a 30% handling fee. Within 90 days of arrival: no refund.
  6. 6DATE CHANGES — Date changes are subject to availability and may be accommodated depending on how far out the change is requested. Reach out as early as possible if you need to adjust your dates.
  7. 7CHECK-IN INSTRUCTIONS — Once your reservation payment is received and processed, you will receive an email with your check-in instructions.
  8. 8REFUNDABLE DAMAGE DEPOSIT — A $500 refundable damage deposit is collected with your reservation. It is fully refunded within 10 days after your checkout if checkout procedures are followed and no damage has been done to the home.

Liability Limitations

The homeowner and management are not liable for malfunctioning amenities or misuse.

Guests under 18 must be supervised at all times. Anyone under 25 years old must be accompanied in the home at all times by responsible adults 25 years or older.

The use of all accommodations and all amenities, including the swimming pool and all other facilities, is entirely at the user's own risk.

Children must be supervised at all times by responsible adults when using the swimming pool. No one under 18 is permitted in the pool area without an adult 25 years or older at any time.

Glass is not permitted within the pool area.

The owners cannot accept any liability for loss of rental time due to travel problems, flight delays, cancellations, weather-related events, or any events outside of our control, including any form of Force Majeure.

The owners cannot accept liability for failure of public supplies/utilities such as water, electricity, phone service, internet service, or air conditioning.

Mailing List Privacy

When you join our mailing list, we collect your name (optional) and email address.

We use it to send occasional updates about the home, special offers, and availability. We do not share, sell, rent, or trade your information with anyone — ever.
